Since the beginning of Trump’s second government, the White House has become increasingly unpredictable to its allies. This change has questioned the solidness of the country’s commitment to the Atlantic unity by many European leaders.

In a special interview with ‘EuroNius’, Croatia prime minister Andrej Bellenkovic highlighted the importance of the continuous commitment of the United States in European affairs and NATO companies.

“I think the US should continue to support Europe. This Atlantic Association is a stability and peace factor in our continent,” Bellenkovic said.

“Of course, it illustrates the importance of NATO. It has been guaranteed joint security for 75 years. I think it must be continued.”

Despite his concern for the reluctance of American politics, Bellenkovic expressed his confidence on the current NATO path. He pointed out the increase in security costs throughout the coalition, including Croatia’s own investments.

Not only the US military object

When asked about NATO’s stability, Bellenkovic thought it was on the right path, as many countries have accomplished the determination of security such as Croatia, which is 2.1% of its GDP and 30% in modernization, and wants to continue investing in security products.

Croatia has significantly expanded its acquisition strategy to include US and European military technologies, with the aim of improving operating system and long -term resistance.

Bellenkovic continued, “We are working hard to achieve not only the American but also European security, but we are in change from West to Oriental Technologies.

“The purpose of its aim is to multiply it in the coming years, and I hope that the new white book on security, the new tools made by the EU, strengthen our strategic autonomy and strengthen our abilities and operating within the EU,” he said.

Croatia has recently finished the Rafael team of its 12 French fighter jets, which strengthened his airspace. At the beginning of 2022, Russia provided 300 million euros to Ukraine from its neighboring invasion by Russia, with military aid, according to Bellenkovic, in the defense of Ukraine and in the framework of European independence.

There is no intention to put anyone in danger

At the latest regional event, Croatia, Albania and Kosovo signed a security agreement to improve military capabilities, advance technology and improve the operating system through joint training.

“The purpose of this agreement is not to be threatened or threatened by anyone. Therefore, everything that has been stated since the signed, as we see, is false and unnecessary.”

However, the tripartite agreement has unleashed the criticism of Serbia, which did not recognize Kosovo’s independence. Serbian authorities have accused both NATO members of both Albania and Croatia of making a “armed race” in Balchan. This happens when Serbia and Hungary signed their own agreement to strengthen military cooperation. Bellenkovic does not see this as “any kind of threat to Croatia.”

Expansion against foreign influential

Bellenkovic emphasized the need to respect national borders and regulations within Europe, and cited the EU coordination process as an important unity to the continent. “The European Road is the reforms and benefits of glue and citizenship for countries to advance in a good direction.”

On the other hand, he emphasized that confidence and conversation is necessary to maintain European stability. “This is what we need, we have a honest conversation and in addition to creating confidence. Without standard hope and conversation, there may always be instability.”
