Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex) reported that he was responsible for the leakage of hydrocarbons that were recorded a few days ago off Tabasco coast.
In a statement, the company made it clear that two leaks in a pipeline transporting oil from the AKAL-C platform to the Dos Bocas (TMDB) marine station.
It is an installation of metal networks in which preparations are carried out to check for Hermetricity and operate the pipeline.
“After a maps fee, it was discovered that part of the size of the oil that fled to the coast of the Dos Bocas in the municipality of Paraso, Tabasco, over seven kilometers.”
However, this spill has already caused a direct impact in the region, not only the economy of fishermen, but also for the tourism sector due to pollution in some beaches, where the black flag was raised, as a preventive measure to prevent access to the sea.
In the same way, environmental damage was recorded because spilled hydrocarbons caused the death of fish and pelicans, among other types.
According to the company, as soon as Hydrocarbons Escape discovered, the specialized equipment and specialized equipment in the region was cleaned.
He stressed that these works will end in the next few hours.
“In these measures, fishermen’s communities were dialogue to prove prevention measures to reactivate their productive activity as soon as possible.”
Pemex says this event was notified to the ASEA Agency for the corresponding treatment procedures.
The spill forced about a thousand fishermen to suspend their productive activities, while the restaurant sector has a significant decrease in its income due to pollution.
The affected societies have expressed concern about the lack of clarity on the final dates for the restoration of ecosystems and economic revitalization.
It is important to mention that the company lasted about three days to issue information about spill and procedures to control it.
This situation adds to other similar facts that have generated important environmental damage such as this recorded in July 2021, which was a gas leakage that led to a fire called “Ain of Play”, which is considered an echo of damage to the sea bed in the Gulf of Mexico.
Likewise, the spill in the Sea of Oil in 2023 in the Canarrel region, near the platform in which the fire was caught on July 7 of the same year.
The fact was classified as an iris by the director of Octavio romero at the time, and environmental associations refuted.
