The locals here believe that the apple is increasing somewhere in the valley. This fruit is the backbone of the horticulture sector of Kashmir.

90 percent of brain tumor patients

According to the Indian Journal of Industrial and Environmental Medicine, a study conducted in 2010, 90 percent of the brain’s brain tumors have been subjected to pesticides in Kashmir’s plantation belt. These pesticides are at risk of the consistency of the crop for a long time. Mancosep is used at a large level to keep the outer skin of the apple. The European Union (EU) has banned it due to cancer components. According to the European Union, the environment is increasing due to this pesticide.

After the ban, its use in Kashmir continues uncontrollably. According to an estimate, 3,400 metric tonnes of this pesticide is sprayed every year. Besides, 4,350 metric tonnes and 3,186 metric tons of chlorpose are also sprayed.
