Campinas (SP) records the first death by Chikungunya of History

Campinas (SP) confirmed on Tuesday (20) the first death by Chikungunya in history. According to the Ministry of Health in Campinas, the victim was 49 years old and residing in the area covered by the health center (CS) in the Jardim Sao Marcos neighborhood.

The volume said that the man is already suffering from accompanying diseases and gave symptoms on March 25. The victim was accepted to a general hospital on March 28 and died on April 3.

This year, Campinas (SP) has already confirmed five cases of Chikungunya. Three cases of the indigenous people were in the municipality, all in the same area of ​​the health center (CS) in the Jardim Sgra Marcos neighborhood.

Regarding other cases, one of them was imported from another state and it was not possible to confirm whether the transmission occurred inside or outside the municipality.

In comparison, in 2024, he reported 12 cases, four of the indigenous people, four imported and four with unlimited infection sites.

Procedures in the Sao Marcos Jardim Center area

The Secretariat of Public Services has removed 105 tons of waste that has been irregularly ignored in neighborhoods that are part of the Sao Marcus Jardim Health Center. The procedure occurred last week.

Health and control procedures were also taken between January and May this year. Inspections of other suspicious cases were performed, and to educate professionals from the health center in the region for early doubt and proper investigation in any case, as well as control money and water.
