Wheat was purchased from 4.68 lakh farmers
A government spokesman for providing information on wheat procurement said that four procurement companies are buying wheat in the Government Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department, Habett, Haryana Root Housing Corporation and the Indian Food Corporation. The state government has so far purchased wheat from 4,68,636 farmers, and 16462.70 crore has been transferred directly to farmers’ bank accounts.
