The government has paid Rs 2,85,994 crore in 8 years
Before Yogi Adityanath became the Chief Minister, it was a big problem for the farmers involved in the arrears of sugarcane value. Made the payment process timely and transparent. As a result, sugarcane farmers were given Rs 2,85,994 crore during his tenure. It was Rs 72,474 crore in 1995-2017. 34,466.22 crore, which was nominated by 2024-25, was paid 83.8 per cent (Rs. 2,85,994 crore). The government also tries to soften the payment cycle.
Sugarcane area increased by 44 percent in 8 years
Due to the full cost of time and transparency, farmers’ gravity towards sugarcane cultivation has increased. The increase in agriculture in the area of agriculture in 8 years is proof of this. According to government data, the sugarcane area has increased from 20.54 lakh hectares to 29.51 lakh hectares. The area of the sugarcane crop was 20.54 lakh hectares in 2016-17, which increased to 29.51 lakh hectares in 2024-25. Or the increase is 8.97 lakh hectares or 44 percent. During the same period, productivity per hectare rose from 72.38 tonnes to 84.10 tonnes.
According to the Chief Minister, there is every chance to increase the production and productivity of sugarcane in the state twice. Planned efforts must be made for this. This requires the discovery and the lack of fees based on transparency. Even if sugarcane cultivation is more profitable, the co -operative farming continues to make the farmers a reality.
Ethanol is the number one in the country in production
Due to ethanol, experts are called the green gold of the future sugarcane. In the future, it is inevitable to increase energy safety and farmers’ income to increase the income of the farmers. Also, it is necessary to benefit the farmers of sugarcane cultivation. At a departmental review meeting, the Chief Minister had advised the implementation of plans to increase the rate of ethanol in the fuel mixture. Considering all these possibilities, the Yogi government continues to insist on increasing its production.
According to government data, 150.39 crore liter of ethanol was made from the state’s 102 active distillerry in 2023-24. In addition, an additional 105.65 crore liters has been installed from private investment at a cost of Rs 6,771.87 crore.
Sugarcane units offer 10 lakh people job
In 2017, the Yogi government has increased the capacity of one and a half dozen sugar mills when he has put up electricity on the main agenda. The new sugar mills started at Mundrewa’s Mundrewa, Ramala. 2,750 TCDs have been established from Ramala (Baghbad) crushing capacity from 5,000 TCD and 27 MW. Today, 122 sugar mills, 236 continents, 8,707 crushed, 65 kogen and 44 distilled units are active in 45 districts of the state. Their total crushing capacity is 7,856 KLPD. 9.81 lakh people get direct employment from these units.
