The compensation is Rs 1,500 crore for 13 lakh farmers in 2023-2024, Deputy Collector Ganesh Mahadik said. These are the farmers who have destroyed crops due to hail and floods. The fraud came to light when the administration received several complaints from the farmers on irregularities in compensation distribution.

In the preliminary inquiry, Mahadik said that significant irregularities were indicated in Kansavangi and Ambat Tehs. Here, there is suspicion of misuse of Tehzildars login credentials, such as village employees, tangal (village level officials) and prevention officials, creating fake beneficiaries, damaging documents and making multiple allowances to the same person.

The report will come in a month

District collector Dr. Sri Krishna Panchal has taken the matter seriously and ordered a detailed investigation. A team of Assistant Collector, Deputy Collector and Nib Tehsildar has been set up for an investigation. The committee has been asked to present its decisions within a month. At the same time, according to the Marathi website Sagal, it will be investigated in other villages that fall under the scam and other Jalna.

100 crores a scam!

Some suspect this scam is not Rs 50 crore and Rs 100 crore. The website’s deputy collector Mahadik quoted that the total amount of money would be revealed only after the investigation. On behalf of the Inquiry Committee, 75 to 80 villages of the taluk are being investigated. In 2023, the houses of many farmers were destroyed due to hail and floods in Jalna, Maharashtra.
