269 ​​farmers committed suicide in Maharashtra’s Marathwada in three months.

Meanwhile, 269 farmers have committed suicide in the state’s Marathwada region from January 2025 to March 2025, and 204 farmers committed suicide over the last three months. This information has been obtained from the report of the Divisional Commissioner’s Office.

There are eight districts in this region of Central Maharashtra, which is considered semi -drying part due to the low rainfall and the change in the monsoon. The report said that the farmers’ suicides in the Pete district were a significant increase in the suicides. In January-March 2024, 44 farmers committed suicide, while 71 farmers committed suicide in the first three months of this year.

Farmers committed suicide in these districts

In the first trimester of 2024, 204 farmers committed suicide in Marathwada, while the number of farmers who committed suicide during the January-March period reached 65 to 269. The report provided the district-wide details of the farmers’ suicide (January 2025) in Marathwada. Of these, 71 farmers have committed suicide by 71 farmers, 50 Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, 37 Nande, 33 at 33, 33 in Tarasivi, 18 in Lathur, 16 in Hingoli and 13 in Jalna.

Raju Shetty raised questions about the Mahayudi government

Cotton-Soyabin yields low: Shetty

Shetty said the yield was reduced to a hectare of cotton and soybean. On the other hand, the cost of input of these crops has increased. Talking about Soybein, the farmers of Maharashtra have lost around Rs 8,500 crore last season because they sold their crop for Rs 1,200 per quintal than the MSP (minimum support price).
