UNIGEL, the company Proquigl, agreed to an agreement stipulating the resumption of the operations of two nitrogenous fertilizers in northeastern Brazil by Petrobras, and the oil company issued on Friday (9) said.

The agreement ends with contractual differences and disputes between the two parties.

Petrobras said that its board of directors believed the decision, as it authorized the conclusion of the agreement, with a final date of signing until May 31.

Reuters expected on Friday that the state council had extended the deadline for signing the agreement with UNIGEL by the end of the month, since the previous deadline won, and sources have been informed of the knowledge of the matter.

The two companies had disputes related to the rental of fertilizer factories from Petrora by UNIGEL in Bahia and Sergipe.

In April, Petrobras stated that it had made a proposal to agree to end contractual disputes and disputes between the two parties, while restoring the possession of fertilizer factories in the northeast and the subsequent appeal of operations by Petrobras.

On Friday, before Petrobras sought a market statement, UNIGEL did not respond at the request of the comment.

Petrobras said that the resumption of factories will be after the bidding is made to employ operating services and maintain these plants.

After signing it by both parties, the agreement will continue to be approved by the Arbitration Court, according to the oil company.

Petrobras rented factories to UNIGEL in 2019 for a period of ten years, but has been paralyzed since 2023, on the basis that the high prices of natural gas in Brazil made the process profitable.
