Bihar is included in the country’s leading states in the production of mushrooms. In recent years, mushrooms have expressed their identity in Indian food and vegetables. But farmers who grow mushrooms are sad at this time. Farmers who see the best future in mushroom agriculture leaves traditional agriculture, fighting with reasonable prices and lack of market. Farmers say the government has insisted on promoting mushroom production, but at its rate, the best market and export training is not provided, so the most affected farmers are able to cultivate mushrooms only in cold weather due to their low resources.

Production at a limited time, limited income

Santosh Kumar Singh from Tenduni village of Karhkar Black, Rohtaz district, said that Button mushrooms are the highest demand at all season. But small farmers can only produce it in cold weather. Lack of proper facilities in the summer is not possible. Singh said he sold one lakh rupees in the cold mushrooms, but this income was not enough for his family. If the government helps to set up a small amount of plants for button mushroom production, farmers’ income may increase.

Suraj Kumar, a farmer from Rohdas district, did not cultivate mushrooms this year. He says that the income is lower than the cost. There are also difficulties in getting government aid and quality seeds. Exact information is not available from the Department of Agricultural and Agricultural Sciences.

The most mushroom production crisis in the market

Dinanath Kumar, who lives in Bihata in Patna district, runs the AC plant for the production of Button Mushrooms. He says previous mushrooms were easily sold in Bihar, but now the competition has increased as units are opened at small and large levels. During the wedding season, the mushroom was sold for 200 rupees, and now it is sold for even 150 rupees. Dinner hopes that the government should provide training to a better site and farmers for mushroom exports. Any product is requested from mushrooms in the country and abroad. In this regard, the government should prepare a plan at its level and tell the farmers about it.

Summer production is difficult, market deficit

According to farmer Santosh Singh, small farmers are able to cultivate mushrooms in the cold, but due to the lack of resources in the summer, they are cultivating mushrooms, which are low. The government should find a solution to storing mushrooms and market problems. There should be storage facilities at the panchayat level.

At the same time, the A.C. Dinath says the price of the button mushroom manufacturing plant is at least Rs 50 lakh, which is not possible for small farmers after government subsidies. Therefore, the government should consider the installation of low -cost units.
