When Bihar gains a new victory every day in crop production, the Bihar government is now preparing an action plan for proper storage of its crops so that the crop can avoid damage. In this episode, the government has decided to provide subsidies to promote onion storage so that farmers can develop their income by creating modern storage structures and can control the high prices of seasonal onions.
Bihar Agriculture Minister and Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha said that the lack of the biggest challenge in onion storage, as farmers often have to sell their products at very low prices. To solve this problem, the state government is providing up to 75 per cent to develop scientific structures for onion storage.

The biggest lack of onion storage
In the financial year 2025-26, the total project costing a total of Rs 4 crore 50 lakhs has been approved by the Minister of Agriculture under the National Agricultural Development Scheme, Agriculture Minister Sinha said. In Bihar there is a huge shortage of onion and proper storage facilities, which is why onions producing onions are forced to sell in a hurry. With all these issues in mind, the storage system is built by the government, so farmers who produce onion can get the right market price of their production even during the season.
Onion koduons will be built in 23 districts
Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha, funded by this centered, is implemented according to the 23 districts of the state, Bhojpur, Bakshar, Jehanabad, Kiimur, Lakisarai, Navada, Saran, Shaykapura, Sivan, Siyangala, Orangala, Orangala, Pangala, 2025-26-26-26-26 Purnoys, Kodia, Kathapur and Vaishali will be implemented. In the financial year 2023-24, the onion storage system will be built by farmers under the Vegetable Development Scheme and the Map of the Map.
Farmers get so much subsidy
The Minister of Agriculture said that the construction of the onion storage structure will be paid 75 per cent or Rs 6 lakh at a cost of Rs. At the same time, the first installment will be given after civil work (foundation, foundation and ceiling level construction), and the second installment system will be issued after the construction work is completed. The farmer’s family will be given the benefit of the maximum onion storage structure.

He added that farmers will be selected based on the type -wise lottery obtained by the online application. The Minister of Agriculture said that the effort would not only reduce the loss of production but also help the farmers to keep the prices stable and provide a fair price to the farmers. Under the onion storage program, farmers are provided with technical training, demo structures and designs for construction so that they can create high quality structures.
