“Chinese support was manifested through Russian oil, food and materials exports to China, as well as supplying Chinese weapons and manufactured products to Russia. According to PFEIFer, this meeting between Putin and Xi Jinping can indicate the balance of the world forces, with a focus on the Russian axis. “Such a movement can reduce the impact of Western attempts to reintegrate Russia based on the global system of the West -align with the West,” he says.
The visit occurs at a time when the relations between China and the United States are tense, especially after the intensification of the trade war that Donald Trump began.
