The fusion of these two municipalities is not just a matter of administrative performance. In the increasingly centralized country, the region needs a strategic to be political weight, negotiation and its own voice.

In Portugal, it is customary to say that there are more municipalities, more parish councils and more waste in local administration. In many cases, administrative boundaries do not reflect the current requirements of territories and damage the population, double the efforts and increase costs. A great example of energy that can be very optimal management is the potential fusion of the municipalities of Aviro and Allahavo.
These two neighboring municipalities, geographically, culturally and economically united, can become a municipality with over 120,000 people, and Aviro can be placed in the ten major municipalities of the country. In fact, until 1898, a district today, they are practically a functional, interconnected urban area, which grows in all directions. Only delays in fragment. However, it is significantly smaller than Coimbatore, Lia or Vaisu (area), which strengthens how wrong the current municipal map is. The truth is that the two banks of Coimbatore are unique municipalities – on the one hand, Santa Clara on the other. The fragment will no longer serve the urban and social reality of the present.
Along with the connection, the most competitive terrain is exposed, which is capable of exit with cities such as medium -sized Praga or Coimbatore, and is very strongly complaining about the central government and the European Union. In the short term, administrative and political dismissal will be eliminated. During the middle period, the lack of shared vision such as a joint strategy for Movement, Housing, Sability and Urban Regeneration, which is connected to the BCI with Ruva da Pega, will be delayed today. For a long time, a strong regional division was created, important mass, business skills and truly integrated planning. This fusion is increasingly a matter of voice and regional influence.
Aviro and Alhawo lose the political space and the confirmation of more coherent and strategic organized regions. From the north, clear examples arise: the ULS Aviro is trying to expand the ULS cost of the ULS region of Turo and Wuka, focusing on resources and abilities in cities such as Espinho, Santa Maria Da Fira or Olivera de Aceamis. The Wuka Tax, in its northern section, has been integrated into the recent walking pass and has benefited the municipalities under the influence of the port, while serving the remaining section – serving Amero – forgotten.
Construction of university residences with state financial advances in South, Coimbatore and Vaisu, delaying advertisements in Aviro. The symbol of regional production, the historic Anadia Wine School, is absorbed by the Coimbatore Polytechnic. From Vaisu, economic groups such as Visabira come up, based on the land surrounding the Aviro Municipal Stadium… do nothing. The same applies to other continuous urban areas, such as the Greater Porto, where the creation of an integrated municipality will allow you to reduce transport, housing, waste and urban planning management, which will allow you to reduce from six to several room presidents. Close to Aviro, the examples of connecting Murdarosa with Estareza or the meeting of Pyroya, Anadia and Olivera in the real municipality of “Byrrada” are options to enter the public debate.
More than half of the current population of Aviro and Ilhao’s two municipalities has come over the past two or three decades – those who do not carry competitions or sterile neighborhoods, but those who need efficient services, better movement, accessible housing and living quality.
If Portugal wants to be a country with very balanced and stable territories, it must be courageous to seriously discuss the reconstruction. Maintaining everything is the easiest option – and is very convenient for the residents of the status. But that is not the best. If we want a more modern, fair and efficient country, we must stop regional restoration.
