He is not only raising Kivi, but he has a good success in it. Pratap Barnal, who lives in Himachal Pradesh, has raised Kivi on his ancestral land, gaining success in it and shocked everyone. The village belongs to the village of Pratap Patcor, the village falls in Solan district. Surprisingly, he knows nothing about more options than traditional apple cultivation. After this, the success of Kiwi cultivation has become an inspiration for other farmers.
There is no more benefit in apple cultivation
Due to imported apples, the competition in the market has increased. Because of this, the distribution of apples has also increased. On the other hand, the changing weather has reduced the chances of making a lot of profit in front of farmers in apple cultivation. 80 thousand profit for the first time
Pratap planted this sapling in 2.5 pikhas of his farm. Himachal is equal to five pixers of an acre. After this, Bradab began to add 100 soup each year. Four years later, by 2021, the first volume of Kivi began to harvest. Pratap harvested about 360 kg of crop and made a profit of Rs 80,000. At the same time, he understood that he chose the right crop for himself. Today there are three kiwi stories in his garden- Heaved, Elison and Manty. In the previous season, his 400 trees gave him 21600 kg of fruit. After this, Pratap sold him for Rs 200 to Rs 250 per kg. In this way, he made a profit of Rs 42 lakh.
What is the secret of Kivi’s success
Pratap’s victory is behind Kivi’s success in the Indian market. Kivi’s demand is increasing due to urbanization and awareness. Kiwi is considered the main source of vitamin C, fiber and antioxidants. According to Eximedia, in 2023-24, India imported Kivi from New Zealand, Iran and Chile at $ 51 million. Day by day, the need for growing kivi is a benefit to Indian farmers. Also, its maintenance is not very difficult. At the international level, Kivi’s market was 8.8 billion by 2024. It is estimated that by 2030, it will reach $ 9.98 billion.
Use of cow dung fertilizer and water
In the garden of Pratap, the old trees of Kivi will yield 60 to 70 kg kiwi. At the same time, new trees receive 30 to 40 kg. He tied Kivi in the box and went to Mandis. According to Pratap, he used only water and cow dung in the cultivation of kiwi. In addition, he prioritizes the drip irrigation that provides water to the roots of the plants.
According to Pratap, the fruits are small due to lack of water. At the same time, the plants receive all the nutritious components from the cow dung, and in such a situation they do not need any chemicals. Givi’s plant is strong and there is no chance of pest attack in such a situation. Also, if its leaves are slightly bitter and hard, the animals avoid eating it. However, the timely contradiction of the tree is very important. For this, Pratap has five people on the farm, and they do the pocket and the rest of the plants in addition to the harvest.
